A community-focused nonprofit organization established in 2003 to advance rights, services, opportunity and resilience for marginalized communities in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Our history

Born from local dialogue and a shared responsibility

Ghazwa Development Organization (GDO) was formed in 2003 in Dera Ghazi Khan / Shadan Lund, Punjab. Its formation followed engagement among political, social and development activists and dialogue with stakeholders including district administration, community actors, media and civil society.

The organization was established to advocate for basic human rights, discourage abuse of those rights, and support marginalized communities as well as people affected by conflict, disasters and violence.

To bring social change through education and human-rights advocacy for the empowerment of marginalized segments of Dera Ghazi Khan.

Created in Dera Ghazi Khan / Shadan Lund as a nonprofit organization with a human-rights and community-development focus.

Program framework

Work structured around health, rights, women’s protection and empowerment, WASH, income generation including microfinance and interest-free loan support, disaster preparedness and institutional development.

Geographical coverage

Activities identified across Tehsil Taunsa Shareef, Tehsil Dera Ghazi Khan and Tehsil Kot Chutta.
